Well.... let the jackhammering begin. The backyard of our home HAD at least 20-25 tons of river rock in it.... It also HAD a crooked cement slab attached to the house.... We are having a landscape crew come in to do all of the major stuff, but we had to get the yard ready for that to happen.... so that included removing all of the rock, busting out the slab, and removing the lawn carpet....... Here are some pictures from the madness......

Let it rip! Te jackhammer weighed more than Justin, but he worked it like a pro.

Our amazing neighbor Bill decided to come over and relieve Justin on the jackhammer.... It was a blessing because Justin was starting to feel like dying after an hour straight on the jackhammer...... sweet moses.

Back on the jack......

The cat was very excited about the activities going on outside... she was running around like a wild animal!

Here I am shoveling.... I put in 7 days straight of rock removal.... needless to say, I enjoyed an amazing massage yesterday.

After our neighbor Bill went home, he returned with water and beer for us to enjoy! We are so blessed to have great neighbors.... it's amazing!

The king-a-ling just taking a break from the drama.

Here is the rock pile I moved by myself. There is an equal sized pile behind the fence that we are keeping.... also moved by me.... Tough Portuguese woman.

Break time for me!

Progress...... I think..... what a mess.....

We called in the fellas to help get the rest of the rock out of the stinkin backyard... Steve-o worked like a maniac.... here we are taking a break... I am of course, acting like a total jackass... this was apparently the day of flexing.....

Here is Andy working hard..... standing near the flexing jackass.... good Lord....

Andy H swinging the rake....

The yard is looking great thanks to our friends and neighbors.... thank you all.... Our other neighbor Jeanie brought us food from Olive Garden to surprise us and cheer us on.... such a blessing! Stay tuned for more pictures of the progress!!

Way to go you Colorado-ans, or Colorado-ites? I think the backyard looks bigger already - can't wait to see the finished product!
