Back to the Scene of the Crime

King and I took a trip out to Gunnison to visit the place where we got married. The Blue Mesa Reservoir was way more full than it was when we were there over 7 years ago. When we got married, there was a ton of sand to stand on, but now the water level is so high that it almost looks like a different place. It's nice to see that the water level has come up. :) Here are some pictures!
Here it is!
Love this fuzzy grass!

We took a ride from Crestid Butte (a town north of Gunnison) back into Gunnison on a pretty dirt road.
There was an amazing Aspen grove. :)
I loved this shack on the hill and the big blue Colorado sky...
Here we are in the park posing with some cool wooden sculptures.
Woohoo!
We had little baby barn swallows nesting outside of our hotel room door. I loved their grouchy little faces and was so happy to watch them for a few days....
On the morning we left, they flew away.... I was all teary about it... I loved them so much... silly things.
On our way out of town we found a steep 4WD trail, so we hit it.... look how crooked the Jeep is.

Love the clouds in these pictures (especially in the 4th one) and the Aspen trunks. Gorgeous! We really live in such a lovely place. I looks like you've been enjoying summer... I hope the nightmares have subsided!
