Rocky Mountain National Park/Steamboat Springs

King-a-ling and I spent the last few days running around Colorado. We took advantage of a free day and hit Rocky Mountain National Park on our way out to Steamboat Springs. We saw lots of amazing stuff... the animals were out in full swing.... and Steamboat was amazing. It was our first trip there... enjoy some pictures!

1st day of summer in the Rockies? We had so much snow up there this year, that there it is on June 21t...

90 degrees in Denver.... 40 degrees in the Mtns......

Mama and babies... this moose family made my summer... lovely.

more moose! and a lovely sleepy deer... so sweet.
 Lovely elk...
Yup... another moose! We got to see six!

Wait, I thought it was snowy!??..... not everywhere!
Soooo...here is what happens when it snows like crazy in the mountains all winter and then hits 90 down below... crazy snow melt and flooding... behold the bike path... the river is just to the left...

 Understatement.....
 Self portrait....
Speaking of heavy snow melt and waterflow.... the waterfall was nuts...
Hidden treasure way back in the woods... brought to light with a decent zoom lense... I wish this truck lived at my house....
another hidden treasure... no zoom required... this was her looking at me after I scolded her for being close to the road....
Steamboat has a lot of little thermal sulphur springs.... they smell like stinky eggs, but are really neat...
 river craziness!
We saw an family of foxes playing while we were on a big-ol bike ride... so lovely...
 bike ride shadow shot...

Mr. Hawk or Falcon... not sure which
 camo-deer!
this crazy crane type thing was just walking all over the feild being stalked by the baby foxes....
the place we stayed.... classy joint!
 Mr. Moo.....
saw this on our bike ride.... just pretty...
sulphur spring bubbles.... this was actually a lithum spring.... wild..
The cool looking scum that apparently grows in a lithium spring....
There it is! No wonder people in Steamboat are so happy... Lithium comes out of the ground....
