Geez, SOMEBODY STOLE Louise!!

Well, it had been a couple of weeks since I last visited Louise. I had driven by her a few times in the past couple of weeks, happily beeping hello... So I figured that I would drop by the coffee shop to say hi to the boys and, of course, Louise. Much to my dismay, when I rounded the corner, Louise was not in her usual spot on the sidewalk. I thought the coffee shop was closed for some special event, but proceeded walking down the sidewalk to see why they were closed. When I reached the door, I noticed people inside and business as usual. My heart sank, and before I could spit the words "Where is she?" out of my mouth, Dan (one of the owners) told me she was stolen from the sidewalk yesterday afternoon DURING BUSINESS HOURS! I went back out to read the sign above and visited the chalk outline... The bar owner across the street saw the whole thing happen and ran to try and stop it, but it was too late. The Jerk ran down the ally with Louise and threw her into the getaway car and took off.

A police report was filed, but the owners of the shop don't expect to see Louise ever again. It makes me sad...and lots of other people too. She was a great pick me up that the entire community enjoyed. The fellas are in search of a new Louise...someone who comes as close as possible to the old one, but it's not the same. R.I.P. Louise... You were fabulous.

They should check Canada. (I'm sorry, but I think my new mission is to somehow relate every post of yours to CANADA!)

Louise is missed already. Here I thought crime on Colfax was on the decline. We now need a shady artist's rendering of the kidnapper.

Poor Louise!! Maybe it was meant to be. Maybe she needed to expand her horizons (hopefully not to Canada or New England (sorry you other posters!), and let some other jazzy lady take her place! You can't keep classy mannikins down on the farm!
Oh where, oh, where...

Thanks to Charline, Louise's personal crusader, there is an article in today's Denver Post, on the front page of the Denver and the West section about the vicious abduction of Louise! You go Charline!!! Can't wait to see the feature on 9 News too!
