Every so often, a kid will make a work of art that has the ability to turn you to moosh. Every year I encounter at least one really memorable work of art....it has to be sincere, and the kiddo has to create it without using any of my ideas or copying anyone else. I am proud to present the artwork of the year award to a first grade student named Jessica. Below, please enjoy the cat she made. The things I like the most are as follows.... the fact that the cat only has 2 legs, looks like it has a goose body, and is so happy, that it doesn't even care that it's legs are missing. Well done Jessica, I am a complete blubbering sap becasue of your artwork!

The lion below was created by a girl named Ally while she was in 1st grade (she is now in 3rd). It just about killed me when I saw it. It's so dang happy and great.... that lion doesn't even care that he doesn't have a tail and that his legs are in a row like the wheels on roller blades.....

Oh crap, it doesn't get much better than that.
