Ice Skating with H

Today Andy H and I went out for breakfast and iceskating in Evergreen. The downtown area is cute and really neat. It has cool little resteraunts and art galleries. We ate breakfast at the Wildflower Cafe (see picture below) and walked around the little downtown looking at art. One of my favorite things about Colorado is the little mountian towns. I love the way the mountians pop up from behind stuff and the way the buildings have to kind of deal with being built on hills. I just really enjoyed being there. I had never been before and the weather was sunny and 48 degrees. Here I am in one of the art galleries in town near a ram sculpture named "Rammy". I am pretty sure that Rammy needs to move into my house because he looks so happy and silly. I love him. Andy knew I would love that sculpture as soon as I turned the corner...he was right! In a nearby stream, we saw lots of silly ducks just doing duck stuff. We decided that these two ducks are married. They were very cute and looked like a bored little old couple... just watching the other ducks do duck stuff. Here is a view of the lake that we went iceskating on. In the background, there is a warming hut where you rent your skates and can get hot chocolate if you need to warm up. How neat is that?

Here we are (you can see the warming hut better) just taking a break from all of the skating. Andy is a fast skater who does tricks and what have you...I just kind of glide and hope for the best.... I did make him pull me around with him really fast....until I got all nervous... but I didn't even fall once.... I had to try and keep pace with Mr. P.E. teacher.... and all of his skating tricks....
There he goes, leaving me in the dust again!
We had a great time. I was really in need of a pick me up because I have been feeling so down and out lately. The sunshine, and friendship, and exercise was just the right medicine. I was also really excited to go to Evergreen because Allison and Jim will be movign there at the end of the month. I am so excited for them because I just got that home-type feeling for them! What a neat place it will be for them to live.
Thanks Andy for cheering me up and taking me out on the town. You are my buddy.

I remember when your father and I used to skate on the Marsh, we didn't have a warm up hut, we either went to the church, or his vovo's house and she made us coffee and graham crackers, while your father warmed my cold toes. I could skate, I thoroughly enjoyed it!!! JoMaMa P S Andy is cute
