Nancy and Roger arrived on the 5th of August just in time to be our first ever guests at the new dinning room table! They drove in from Wyoming after spending a week in Yellowstone. I cooked up a big ol'chicken and fixins and we had a great first night together.
Self portrait!
Here is a picture of the crew resting in the shade!

We were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. The apricot tree started dropping fruit... so we ate it. When the tree decided to stop giving it to us, Justin shook more down from the branches...it was delicious.
Here is JPK looking at one of the art exhibits. The artwork was made with spray paint.
Here is one of the permanent sculptures in the garden. It's from Africa.
Here is a shot of Roger's favorite grass!
Beautiful sunflowers!
Here is a close up of one of the spray painted paintings... cool huh?
Here we are on our next adventure. We drove up Mt. Evans, and the fog rolled in...so we didn't get to see any mountain goats this time... but we had fun anyway.
We did see lots of marmots!
Here we are at Movie on the Rocks. We all headed off to Red Rocks to see a movie. They do that during the summer... we watched Purple Rain...it was really a fun time. I think my favorite part was the flamboyant guy behind us yelling comment like "He's going to beat your ass Prince!"
Here is the band that went on before the movie. It was a really fun night. You can bring snacks, blankets and just hang out for 10 bucks a head!
Here is a group shot. I placed the camera on the bench below up and set the auto timer!
Off to the Saturday farmer's market in Denver. It was a beautiful day and we bought all kinds of fruit and veggies.... in my opinion, it is one of the best markets in Colorado.

To the top of Pike's Peak we go! Here we are at the summit! The air is thin and the sky is blue!
Here I am with a miner dude I found in the gift shop....
Gotta love the beautiful views and scenery!

Small dude, big world!
Nan and Roger taking a break!
The view of the road from the top of some rocks Justin and I climbed up!
There is JPK at the top of the rocks!
I'll have a portuguese on the rocks please....
Gotta love the Colorado big sky...it's one of my favorite features.

Here are Nan and Justin at the lake at the base of Pike's Peak.....
Next adventure, The Great Sand Dunes! They are the biggest sand dunes in North America...about 750 feet high... beautiful.... you need to go if you live here or visit here. There is no way to accurately describe how awe inspiring they are.
Here are Nan and Justin about 500 feet up.... We didn't make it to the top, but we gave it a good bid!

It is amazing to watch the shadows go over them. Seriously, google them...
Here we are on the day that they left... taking group shots. We had such a great adventure!
Thanks for coming out you guys! We love you!!

I can't get over those pictures. I just never pictured Colorado to look so beautiful. I love the sky.
It all was so wonderfully wonderful, especially seeing "you kids" so warm and cuddly. And we are still reverberating from the awestruckedness of the immensity of the beautiousness of CO! (Had to find some BIG words for a BIG state!) Whew! Wow! Whoa!
Luv, luv, luv...
