During Justin's visit, we had a chance to head over to the Denver Botanic Gardens. It was a beautiful day and the temperature was just right. We walked around from garden to garden and enjoyed the day together.

I love being there because it is so beautiful and you see so many neat plants in one place. I am thinking of becoming a member (40 bucks) so I can go in and hang out as often as I want to. Being there makes me want to make stuff... so maybe if I bring all of my pencils and art supplies, I could really come up with some cool new ideas.

We had great timing because the gardens are featuring big wooden (and some metal) bug sculptures. There was also an art show that featured bug paintings that were super detailed and brightly colored.

I thought this was a neat picture because of the complimentary colors. (I know, real artsy!!) It reminded me of the bamboo that Justin and I saw in Hawaii on our honeymoon a few years back.

Here are some of the crazy bug sculptures... I love the head on the ladybug... and the body is just wild. The ant below was HUGE.....

The botanic gardens are amazing. I like to go there and refresh my brain on what is what. I loved being able to just chill and enjoy the beauty with the Boy. It was a great day (and the ice cream wasn't half bad either.)
Colorado is full of inspirational places...it blows my mind to have it at my fingertips. What a blessing.
